Keith Eddey

Keith Eddey

Keith Eddey sadly passed away in the early hours of Sunday 16 May, 2021 at the age of 91. Here he is remembered fondly by friends.

"Keith joined the Oxford College of Technology in 1964 as a Senior Lecturer in Law in the School of Management and Social Sciences. He continued teaching when it became Oxford Polytechnic, progressing to Principal Lecturer in Law. He took early retirement in the mid-80’s.
"Keith had a great rapport with colleagues and students alike. A number of his past students kept in touch with him when they went on in their working life. Keith was a quiet, unassuming man. A good friend. He will be sadly missed."
Jean Douglas

"Keith Eddey was a scholar, a quiet and wise man. He wrote 6 books on the law and on his home town Oxford.
"He came to teach law at the Oxford College of Technology in 1964, having been a Town Clerk in local government. He took early retirement in the mid-1980s. I became a colleague of his in 1967 and we have been good friends ever since.
"An unassuming man who wanted no fuss, he enjoyed teaching law; he was married for many years to Margaet who died 4 years ago; and he gave legal advice on several occasions to Brian Lloyd when he was Director of the Oxford Polytechnic 1970-1980.
After he retired , Keith wrote a little illustrated guide book on Oxford. Keith was a Devon man, a county which he loved and where he was born on 28 October 1929."
