What are alumni?

Alumni are former students or graduates of Oxford Brookes. And we are very proud of them!

There are over 130,000 Brookes alumni living and working all over the world. Everyone is a potential ambassador for their university, mentor for a student or recent graduate, or chapter member – linking up with their fellow alumni locally, running events and social meet-ups.

An alumnus (Latin pronunciation: [aˈlʊmnʊs]; masculine) or an alumna ([aˈlʊmna]; feminine) of a college, university, or other school is a former student who has either attended or graduated in some fashion from the institution. The word is Latin and simply means student. The plural is alumni [aˈlʊmniː] for men and mixed groups and alumnae [aˈlʊmnae̯] for women.
