The Brookes Society: open to all retired former Brookes staff

Welcome to The Brookes Society for Retired Staff

The Society was established in 2008 as an opportunity for retired Brookes colleagues to keep in touch with each other, and with the university, after they have left.

The aim of the Society is to provide ways former staff can meet up, including our two annual parties – at the Spring Party we hold the AGM, and the Summer Party is hosted by the Vice Chancellor. Events are held throughout the year which are very popular and are often oversubscribed.

Membership is open to all retired Brookes staff. The university supports our activities, providing administrative help, meeting rooms and venues for the two Parties, but has asked us to be more self-sustaining by contributing to the cost of the Parties. We have therefore introduced a £10 annual subscription so members can attend both Parties, choose from the programme of events we organise annually (some will have an additional charge), be aware of available university benefits and receive regular newsletters. We currently have around 100 members.

I hope you will join us, enjoy the social activities and events on offer, meet up with old friends, (maybe make new ones!) and help us to develop the Society with ideas and support while also having fun.
