Mentoring conversation

Brookes Connections is enabling Brookes students to access career-mentoring from experienced, professional alumni. Here are a few examples of what our mentors and students think of the scheme.

  • Tim Field

Tim Field '06 - Associate Partner at Instinctif Partners

"I am an Associate Partner at Instinctif Partners. I've benefited from the experience of colleagues everywhere I've worked and mentoring is a great opportunity to ask questions and seek advice from those further on in their careers.

"An e-mentoring scheme is a fantastic way to for alumni to support students in a flexible way. Whether it's a bit of guidance on CVs, interviews or applications alumni will have had to do their own many times and can share their experience.“

  • Gosia Rudnicka

    Gosia Rudnicka - Undergraduate Student

"I am a final year Sociology and Education Studies student. I think the Brookes ementoring portal is an invaluable initiative which enables students to expand their horizons and smooth their transition into the job world.

"Having the opportunity to connect to successful professionals will let you gain an insight into your chosen industry or career as well as provide you with useful advice. No-one should miss this opportunity."

  • Julia Atkinson

    Julia Atkinson '92 - Entrepreneur

"I set up my own business - Happy Cakes based in Oxford and sold handmade cakes to cafes. My business has really grown over 10 years and I now specialise in corporate logo cakes.

"I think the ementoring programme is a wonderful opportunity for ex-Brookes students to connect with current ones and share their life and work experiences. I'm really looking forward to taking part as I think it'll be really interesting and beneficial for both parties involved.”
